Welcome home, President Hinckley...

I was stunned last night when I heard that President Gordon B. Hinckley had passed away. He was 97 years old but he always seemed SO young and vivacious! I always loved the twinkle in his eye that was obvious even through the TV. I guess I almost had the idea that he would live forever with us on earth. As a friend of mine similarly felt, he was an amazing, solid, loving example that guided my generation through childhood to adulthood among other things. His life is a life truly inspiring. I will miss him dearly but am considerably consoled when I think of the amazing welcoming he recieved! Heaven has called back one more amazing spirit. Much love to you, President Hinckley!

Baby acne...

Poor baby! So Shae has baby acne..... all over her face. I guess this is normal for breastfed babies, right? Poor thing :( Anywho, I was really excited to get some professional pics done but I think I'm going to wait until this clears up :)

I just had to post this pic! Jaakson was put in time-out for hitting Klint. The rule in our house is whichever parent puts Jaakson in time-out has to let him out of time-out as well... so that Jaakson won't think the other parent is saving him from time-out or whatever. So after a while I realize Klint has taken a nap and didn't let Jaakson out so I went into his room to check on him and couldn't find him! I called his name and he was nowhere to be found! THEN, I caught him out of the corner of my eye sitting between his bed and his dresser! He had fallen asleep while pouting in time-out! Ha, ha! Funny, no?

neglected but amused...

So, breastfeeding...

For all my ladies.....

Wow. That's all I can say. I have to say that I have SO much respect and admiration for mothers who breastfeed their babies for the first year. BFing takes SO much patience and love along with many other attributes. With Jaakson I gave up breastfeeding after two weeks....I'm not gonna lie, formula was WAY more convenient with my school and work schedule at the time. Now, with Shae, I'm home during the day and most nights so I really want to make it to the one year mark but, seriously, HOW?! Sometimes it's like I have a rotweiler, not a newborn, gnawing away! Ha, ha! ....no, really though... I love being able to provide nourishment and comfort for her via breastfeeding but there are some trade-offs I can't get over feeling guilty about such as poor Jaakson is getting neglected, my place is a wreck most of the time, and I feel a little isolated from everyone, including Klint, because I've been little more than a milk factory for the past month. ;) I'm sticking with it because I see how happy it makes Shae and I know "breast is best" and etc. So, advice? Words of wisdom?

Shae Josephine

Sorry so long since my ONLY post! LOL! Shae was born on December 14th in Payson, Utah. She was 7 lb 5 oz and 20 inches long! Shae is a sweet lil girl and Jaakson loves her, too! I'm still waiting for him to get jealous of her and knock her in the head with his toys or something!;) I'll try to update this blogspot more often! Much love!
