Just when I thought I wouldn't have anything to watch on tv this summer...

My buisness cards arrived today!!!

I designed them myself! I directed the shoots and the haircolor/haircut/hairstyle/MU were all my work! Yay! It's about time I have business cards, huh? Check 'em out.

For you Debbie-lovers out there...

Debi and I went to Debbie's Cedar City reception this weekend. Check out how amazing Debbie looks...they are so cute!

1st Juicy BOOTY to win ANTM!

Even though I'm really late on this and was rooting for Anya, Whitney did a better job at the final runway show. I can't deny that I'm really proud that a juicy chick finally won ANTM, too. I think Whitney has been the best to represent what real women look like and that's encouraging to see. Congrats, Whitney! Way to represent the juicy booties of the world!!!

Rice cereal and cameras.

Shae is 5 months old now and I've been slowly introducing rice cereal with bananas to her repertoire. She is SO not a fan. I've found the best way to get her to eat rice cereal is to distract her with songs, silly voices, and Jaakson taking pictures of her. Shae absolutely adores Jaakson. Enjoy the pics!

And to think I USED to want to be an elementary teacher...

I just need to blog-vent for a minute. Note: the following paragraph will contain some negative and frustrating rantings I have. You've been forewarned. Before I decided upon cosmetology, I was thisclose to going into primary education. With children in the near future, I decided to go with cosmetology due to the flexible, accomodating schedule it can offer. Plus, I think I have a little knack for it so it came more easily to me. I'm currently instructing part-time, two nights a week for the summer at Dallas Roberts Academy (where I graduated from a lil over a year ago). Anywho, I thought "this will be an easy job." Little did I know how dramatically the night school morale has changed since I went to school there. Some of the students have a laundry list of complaints about the school. There was one student in particular that told the night school Head Instructor that she doesn't like the way I teach and she doesn't like that I am an instructor soley because of the fact that I went to school there so recently. Note: this particular student was never in class or on the floor with me while I was in school- she started right after I graduated. Another thing I see in night school is that the girls don't seem like they want to be there....they don't want to learn apparently? I know 2000 hours of school is daunting but it's required so why not make the most of it and learn all you can while you're there? Then there's the instructor that has made it known to any and everyone (including students, other instructors, and CLIENTS)how she dislikes and disagrees with the Head Instructor's, and the school's, management. I don't agree that everything is perfect there either but no matter what school you go to, you're going to have people that find something to complain about. There are gossip-Queen/instigators I've witnessed straight-up lying-through-their-teeth to other instructors and students. They are partly to blame for stirring the ever thickening drama-pot. Now my time in school wasn't a total utopia of harmony either but everyone generally got along and came to class and became good cosmetologists, in my opinion. I'm genuinely worried about the girls I'm teaching. I'm worried about some of their futures as cosmetologists. But then a statistic comes to mind, only 1 in 10 cosmetologist are still doing cosmetology ten years after they graduate. I was very tempted that this job was not worth the stress it was might eventually cause me. Who needs that kind of stress? I've already been through highschool experiences of backbiting and gossip and cliques, right? Nevertheless, I came to the conclusion to stick it out and do my best to be a good instructor. I can't do anything other than my best, right? And to think, I used to want to be an elementary school teacher....

Turbo Jam!

I'm a hardcore TJ follower. I've worked out everyday since last Monday and I'm definetely seeing serious results! Now, I've done TJ before w/a friend after we both had our first children and it got most of the left-over baby weight off but I'm going for a BIG difference this time! I'll be posting "Before" and "After" pics in another couple weeks! I'm so excited!

I'm a hopeful Romantic, I can't help it....

Maybe, just maybe, it will work out? Ryan and Trista worked out, right? It's possible! I guess only time will tell.....as is the case in all REAL relationships. ;)

12.12.08 I'm THERE!

I'm such a nerd. I can't wait. I'll be waiting in line with a bunch of 13-year old girls. If you're a nerd, too, the official trailer will be on tomorrow afternoon at www.twilightthemovie.com.

In case you haven't already read it, here is the link for the article in this month's "Time" magazine about Stephenie Meyer, http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1734838,00.html.

Loved this part of the interview/article:

Resisting that temptation is a constant struggle. Edward's choice--and the willingness to choose a different way in general--is a major theme in Meyer's books. "I really think that's the underlying metaphor of my vampires," she says. "It doesn't matter where you're stuck in life or what you think you have to do; you can always choose something else. There's always a different path."

True. But that does not exhaust the meaning of the Twilight books. Certainly some of their appeal lies in their fine moral hygiene: they're an alternative to the hookup scene, Gossip Girls for good girls. There's no drinking or smoking in Twilight, and Bella and Edward do little more than kiss. "I get some pressure to put a big sex scene in," Meyer says. "But you can go anywhere for graphic sex. It's harder to find a romance where they dwell on the hand-holding. I was a late bloomer. When I was 16, holding hands was just--wow."

But it is the rare vampire novel that isn't about sex on some level, and the Twilight books are no exception. What makes Meyer's books so distinctive is that they're about the erotics of abstinence. Their tension comes from prolonged, superhuman acts of self-restraint. There's a scene midway through Twilight in which, for the first time, Edward leans in close and sniffs the aroma of Bella's exposed neck. "Just because I'm resisting the wine doesn't mean I can't appreciate the bouquet," he says. "You have a very floral smell, like lavender ... or freesia." He barely touches her, but there's more sex in that one paragraph than in all the snogging in Harry Potter.

The couple that plays together, stays together.....right? ;)

Klint and I just got home from our fourth co-ed softball game in Orem and I have to say that I am SO proud of our team! We have all improved SOOO much since our first game! And I absolutely LOVE everyone. Most of us haven't played for years and even a couple of the women and one guy have NEVER played. Those that have never played are improving in leaps and bounds and look like regulars now! I, for one, haven't played regularly since 2001 and am a little rusty but am slipping back into my old groove. ;) Since I moved from St. Jorge, I never knew enough women and/or men that knew how to play and then came night school and kids. Before I knew it, I hadn't played for 6 years! It feels SO good to get out and play again. I didn't realize how much I missed it. It's even better that I get to play with Klint. We've always been a really active couple and have a lot of fun playing tennis and one-on-one basketball and etc. And we are REALLY competetive with each other but we're finally playing together and it's SOOOO fun! For example, Klint was playing first and I had a grounder at short and when I threw it to him, to beat the runner, Klint practically did VanDam splits! I was so proud! Tonight we almost beat a really good team, too. We were tied but lost by 4 cuz the last inning a guy hit a grand slam. And to give you some insight on just how much we've improved, we lost our first game because they had 20-runned us by the fourth inning. I can't wait to see how we do on our next 4 games and the tournament. Most of all, I love having an athletic husband that can play any sport and plays them well. He has such a good heart and has always been such a positive person. I've never been embarassed by Klint having bad sportsmanship or a temper.....like I've seen other men have (you can see their poor wives cringing in the stands). ;) Anyways, I posted some pics of our AWESOME, socreative t-shirts I made for our team! I used iron-on letters and numbers. I ran out of some letters so I had to print some more out on printable sheets so the size of the font varies on most of the shirts....it's pretty funny. They look like letters off of a ransom note or something....

P.S. I finally went RED!
